New volunteers are always welcome but there are certain roles we are particularly keen to fill:
Our Secretary (who is also a Trustee) is standing down in November 2020 and we need an organised, reliable individual to take on his duties. The role involves keeping Trust records at Companies House and Charity Commission up to date, submitting annual returns online and organising Committee/Trustees meeting and the Annual General Meeting. It would be advantageous to be within commutable distance to Embsay.
Fund-raiser/web-sales officer – to solicit donations and generate revenue through sales – we have various products for sale but currently there’s no-one able to deal with listing these online, setting up payment methods or handling orders and despatching these.
Publicity. Due to family illness and ongoing ill-health I am no longer able to handle this brief myself. The role is changing but it may involve various PR work with passengers, members of the public at exhibitions, assorted media contacts and keeping the Trust online presence up to date and responding to social media enquiries and posts.
Civil Engineer. The Trust is considering constructing a museum/workshop and needs someone to act as a co-ordinator to investigate the feasibility of this and potentially to apply for fund-raising and co-ordinate our efforts in any construction project.
For more details on any of the above roles, please get in touch. If you are interested in volunteering but for a different position, then do please contact us. We are still keen to hear from you, just because what you have in mind is not listed above, does not mean you can’t contribute or we won’t be interested. There is a great variety of roles, whether ‘clean’ or ‘dirty finger-nail’, specialised or general, ‘hands-on’ or remote working. If you can help, please contact us using one of the methods listed on this site.
